Appointment of President of The Society of Actuaries of Thailand for 2019 - 2021
The Society of Actuaries of Thailand has elected the President of the Association for Agenda 2019 - 2021 by Mr. Pichet Jiaramaneetaweesin (Tommy), Managing Director, Actuarial Business Solution Co., Ltd. (ABS) was elected to the position of President of the Association for the 3rd time. Effective from 1 April 2019 - 31 March 2021.
The number of members of SOAT is currently at 299 persons. Which still holds the principle "It is the leading organization in the region to develop actuaries be more professionals with ethics. To provide service and support for internationally competition". The association is ready to work with other organizations whether it be OIC, The Thai Life Assurance Association, Thai General Insurance Association including Federation of Accounting Professions to be part of driving the insurance business as well as other related businesses.
In addition, the new President said that SOAT is ready to be a backlash to support changes in various issues that are coming into the insurance industry such as the minimum fund RBC2, the impact of the new mortality tables, IFRS17, or Unit Link Standards etc.
