Call for Papers - Singapore Actuarial Conference International
The
Singapore Actuarial Society will be holding the Singapore Actuarial Conference
(“SAC”) in the week of 22 – 26 November 2021. The format of the
conference will be either fully virtual or in hybrid format with limited
in-person attendance, depending on the prevailing public health guidelines. In
either scenario, we expect overseas attendees to be able to effectively participate
via virtual means. Given the great value from international collaboration noted
in the course of activities such as the Asian Actuarial Conference,
International Committee seminars across Asia and IAA get-together, the SAC
organising committee has tentatively set aside 25 November to be “International
Day” whereby the SAC are looking to curate a range of insightful speakers
to bring a perspective from outside Singapore. The presentations need not be
country-specific but rather the purpose is to facilitate greater engagement and
collaboration.
We are now accepting papers to be presented at the conference.
Cyber hacking is on the rise, cryptocurrencies are in
fashion, tackling climate change is back on the discussion table, mRNA
technology may have just saved the planet, and the use of algorithms is
becoming more mainstream in insurance. Bring forth your view of how these and
other global trends will affect the actuarial world.
And of course, no event in current times is complete without considering the impact of COVID-19. Do you know how companies adapted their selling practices in response to COVID? Do you know which segments incurred significant losses or, perhaps, benefitted as the pandemic engulfed the world? The business titans of the world are hotly debating the future of work – what is your view? And do you have frameworks for making decisions in such an uncertain environment that could be helpful for our community?
Please submit your papers using the following link by
23 August 2021, indicating that the presentation is part of
International Day.
