SOAT: 2026 SOA-SOAT Joint Seminar - Call for Proposals
The Society of
Actuaries (SOA), in partnership with the Society of Actuaries of Thailand
(SOAT) invites you to attend the SOA-SOAT Joint Seminar. The seminar will be
held in Bangkok, Thailand on 24 November 2026. The theme for this year’s seminar is “Leveraging
AI and Data Analytics to Build the Next Generation of Insurance Products”.
We are seeking
session proposals that offer relevant and engaging content from seasoned
speakers who are interested in sharing their expertise. Speakers are welcome to
utilize formats that best convey their content or spark engaging conversation
among attendees, including case studies, sharing of leading practices and tools
for audience participation. Presentations should aim to fulfil the
following:
- Provide relevant and educational content
- Offer topics that appeal to professionals in the
finance and insurance industries around Asia-Pacific
- Provide current information on all aspects of the
actuarial profession
- Fulfill continuing education requirements
Here are some
examples of topics that may be of interest to the target audience. We also
welcome any relevant topics for the organizing committee's consideration.

- Artificial
Intelligence (AI) in data analytics and insurance
- AI
models to enhance product development, price assumptions and distribution
channels
- AI for
experience studies and assumption setting, including whether AI can
improve assumption development and how actuaries should validate
AI-derived assumptions
Regulation,
Governance and Standards
- Regulator
strategy and guidance to supervise AI applications in market and product
development
- AI
governance and regulatory expectations
- Actuarial
standards of practice in AI
- Future
actuarial modelling standards
Professionalism
and Future Role of Actuaries
- Professionalism,
including the future role of the Appointed/Certifying Actuary in an AI
world
